What is a society NOC and who gives it?

A society NOC is a short letter from the society's Residents' Welfare Association or Apartment Owners' Association, saying it has no objection to whatever you asked it to confirm, commonly that dues are clear or that a tenant can move in.

( SCROLL ↓ )

For a rental, an owner sometimes gets one to show the society has no objection to letting the flat out, and some societies separately ask the tenant to sign an undertaking agreeing to follow its rules. There is no fixed government form or fee, each society sets its own process. Ask your landlord early whether their society needs one, since issuing it can take a few days.

What is a society NOC and who gives it?

A renter's question, answered from the record and the law.

Every number on this page is dated, and its source is named beside it. The law is what the statute says; the practice is what Bengaluru does, and where the two differ, both are written down.

Send this page to whoever you are moving with; a home is usually chosen by two people at eleven at night. The next step is one message to the desk with the budget, the size and the office.

The record answers the question. The desk confirms the home.
