Can I keep a pet in a rented flat?

Whether you can keep a pet depends on your landlord and your society, not on any law written for tenants in Karnataka.

( SCROLL ↓ )

Many gated societies do allow common pets like dogs and cats, sometimes with a size or breed limit set by the society's own rules, while some owners simply prefer not to let their flat to a pet owner. This is agreed case by case, flat by flat. Tell the landlord about your pet before you sign, and get the permission written into the agreement so it cannot be withdrawn later.

Can I keep a pet in a rented flat?

A renter's question, answered from the record and the law.

Every number on this page is dated, and its source is named beside it. The law is what the statute says; the practice is what Bengaluru does, and where the two differ, both are written down.

Send this page to whoever you are moving with; a home is usually chosen by two people at eleven at night. The next step is one message to the desk with the budget, the size and the office.

The record answers the question. The desk confirms the home.
