If your agreement stays silent on notice, the Transfer of Property Act, 1882 falls back to a default of fifteen days for a month to month tenancy. Most 11 month agreements in Bengaluru fix their own notice period rather than relying on this default. Read the notice clause before you sign, and mark the date your notice must go out if you plan to leave at term end.
The number
Statutory default is 15 days for a month-to-month tenancy (Transfer of Property Act 1882, S.106); most agreements write their own 1 to 2 month clause instead (commonly quoted).
